Château de Sean

Built by Sean: Monday, July 10, 2017

Background

Château de Sean is the build I hold in higher regard than any other. It is by far my best and most decorative build, and there's no structure I'm prouder of. Constructing this was a game-changer for me, as it set a new standard for what I was capable of building. Comparing my average build from before Château de Sean to my average build afterwards is like night and day. While inspired by Duncan's Castle from Tekkit with Duncan, it is not a carbon copy, and it has many of its own decorative decisions.

Construction

The original build of Château de Sean was located at ground level, in the middle of a forest. It had four main towers, one for magic, one for science, one for living in, and one for general storage and castle operations, such as the computer core. This build lasted throughout the remainder of Telkit I's lifespan as our main pack, but every version of the castle after it has been identical, with one exception: the telescope.

When the castle was brought over to Telkit II, it was moved to a snowy mountaintop, which gave it an entirely new vibe. The original was designed to be more active in many ways, as it had a dungeon for keeping captives, as if it were an active medieval-style fortification. The later versions had a different feel entirely. The dungeon was removed, and the castle changed to being felt like it was old and abandoned in the middle of a snow-covered area, and that one lonely inhabitant conducted scientific experiments and cast magical spells there. This feel was much more in line with what I actually wanted it to be.

Later on, Château de Sean gained a lake at its base, built by Wyatt. It was slightly less lonely, and felt less desolate than it had before. I often decorated the castle when holidays rolled around, chiefly, the decorations I installed at Christmas. The most recent build, done on Telkit IV in May 2022, retains all of those features, except that the lake in front of it is a natural one.
