Description

Designed and built for the Redstone Update (Minecraft 1.5.2), Nosiphus Required Mods is our earliest modpack that we used soon after the server started. It requires Java 8.

Nosiphus Required Mods is much smaller than other Nosiphus packs, as it is meant to be a representation of what our original environment was like in the summer of 2013.

Nosiphus Required Mods gets its name from the file that was once used to distribute the modpack, which was called "nosiphusrequired.zip." In those days, we did not distribute the pack through a launcher, we simply sent it in a file and had to manually patch our vanilla Minecraft instances. This was with the original launcher that didn't support multiple versions of the game being installed at once.

NRM is a very small pack, including only a small selection of mods, but these are still the fundamental core mods we build our modern packs around. They're either still present, or if they no longer exist, a close alternative is installed in its place.

It also bundles with it the original texture pack we were using at the time, which is TheVoxelBox's Modern pack. Years later, many of these textures have become components of YogMod.

Sphax PureBDcraft

Nosiphus recommends Sphax PureBDcraft. It has long been our texture pack of choice. You will need to copy the modded textures into the vanilla texture pack, as Minecraft 1.5.2 does not support loading multiple texture packs at once.

Nosiphus Server IP Address

If you have access to the Nosiphus Required Mods server but lose the IP address, it is nrm.nosiphus.com.

Please note that the Nosiphus Required Mods server is no longer kept online as it has been superseded, so authorized members will need to request it to be loaded if they wish to access it.
