Summer Breeze

Background

As fun as Telkit Development Edition was becoming in the summer of 2020, it was in no way ready for use as a main pack. We'd all had this growing desire to play survival Minecraft as a way to counteract the pandemic-imposed boredom, so after adding a shader to the main line of Telkit, we began a long-term survival server on August 1, 2020. We would spend the next three months focusing more on this server than we did on the main server.

We came up with a theme for our bases: all of them would be named after songs. I had chosen a coastal location for my base, and accordingly gave it a name that I thought fit it pretty well: Summer Breeze, named after the Seals and Crofts song. Next door to it was a massive winter biome, which I appropriately named Winter Wonderland, named after the song by Tony Bennett. After about a week, I began construction of my home on August 9. I would spend the next several months updating and improving it with new rooms, such as a dedicated room for industrial equipment, a specific launch area for rockets, and even a missile silo. When Wyatt decided to blast a small missile near my base, I took advantage of the hole he produced and turned it into a water feature.
