Recent as of Sunday, November 22, 2020 - We have decided to go ahead with the update. Telkit 9.0 is now live!
Recent as of Thursday, November 19, 2020 - With Telkit Development Edition getting closer to be mostly feature-complete, I want to announce the current situation as we begin the transition from 1.12-based Telkit 8 to 1.16-based Telkit 9.
Currently, there are only two outstanding mods that MUST be updated before the 1.16 pack takes over the main line. Those two mods are TerraForged and ProjectE. Galacticraft or another space travel mod will be added at a later point in time. Presently, there are no mods available to add space travel to Minecraft 1.16.
Buildcraft, IndustrialCraft 2, Forestry, and Thaumcraft will most likely not be making the journey to Telkit 9. The latter three have no 1.13+ builds, and the first is already set to move to Fabric. Telkit will remain with Forge. These mods may join the pack at a later date, perhaps in Telkit 10.
So, what is the transition going to be?
When the move to 1.12 was completed in June 2018, Telkit 6 took over the main line, and Telkit 5 for 1.7 became Telkit Classic. We will be doing something similar this time. When Telkit 9 releases, Telkit 8 will be moving to another pack which has yet to be named.
That being said, the best course of action when the time to update comes will be for users to rename the telkit folder inside their .technic directories to the new 8.x name, so a fresh Telkit 9 will be downloaded.
Telkit 9.x will be the last version of Telkit to utilize the 2015 naming conventions. Due to the limit of how many characters can be used in the versioning, we will hit a problem once we're on Telkit 10 and an update needs to be pushed out on a double-digit date of a double-digit months (i.e. 11.19).
A completely new versioning scheme is in the planning stages, but at the moment, Telkit 8 is still supported, as all our modpacks are. We are at the mercy of the TerraForged developers, so whenever they make the decision to update their mod to 1.16, Telkit 9 will take over.
Recent as of Sunday, September 20, 2020 - The poll has been conducted, the results are 50-50 for a random map with countries or a random survival map. The most likely possibility is that a mixed implementation of this will rule the upcoming Telkit server.
Recent as of Friday, August 21, 2020 - We are presently conducting a poll to determine the direction of the Telkit server once it updates past 1.12.2.
Recent as of Thursday, July 2, 2020 - Recently, we've been working on rebranding our content properties in order to refocus for a potential format shift for the channel. The biggest single component so far has been the retirement of the Labour brand and the transfer of those assets to the site for Lunatics with Sean Crain. A potential comeback of the livestream is in the planning stages, most notably a change in timeslot.
Recent as of Tuesday, June 2, 2020 - In past years, we have brought June in with a lighthearted reference to the summer of 2013.
Not this year.
It was a week ago yesterday that another black man was murdered by a police officer for no reason whatsoever. It is absolutely ridiculous that this keeps happening, and the country has finally decided that cops are not above the law.
We have set up a section of the Labour site to house all of our George Floyd protest-related thoughts and links.
Recent as of Thursday, April 9, 2020 - The CSS rewrite of the Nosiphus website has been completed.
Recent as of Sunday, April 5, 2020 - We are currently working on a complete redo of the website that will place everything into a common set of containers that will allow for cross-site changes to be made with only a few modifications to one CSS file. The first attempt did not turn out well and the CSS file ended up being crazily complex, so we rolled back the change and are starting over.
Recent as of Friday, April 3, 2020 - With all the spare time on our hands, Sean has made the decision to apply the stylistic change made to the navigation bar across the whole of the site. This has taken a considerable amount of time to perform, but it will definitely be worth it.
Recent as of Sunday, March 1, 2020 - We are in the process of updating YogMod with some new features that we have been meaning to add for quite some time now.
Recent as of Wednesday, February 19, 2020 - Before the debate, I was absolutely certain. After that debate, I am convinced that the train is unstoppable.
Nosiphus Server Network:
mc.nosiphus.com - telkit.nosiphus.com
Recent as of Thursday, February 13, 2020 - It is operational. Still in heavy development, but it is operational.
There are currently three servers available to play on. BungeeCord was used, but it has too many issues connecting with Telkit for it to be placed in regular use.
Vanilla Survival Server - mc.nosiphus.com - Vanilla 1.15.2
Modded Beta Server - beta.nosiphus.com - Sean's Beta Pack on Technic
Telkit Server - telkit.nosiphus.com - Telkit on Technic
Recent as of Sunday, February 9, 2020 - It's finally happening. Next week, a proper server computer will finally be available to use, and in accordance with that, a new Nosiphus server network will be launched alongside it.
Initially, the network will consist of two servers: a vanilla survival server and the Telkit server. BungeeCord will be utilized to link chat between them, and Discord will be connected as well. We will have support for factions to allow you to claim land. I will also be configuring permission synchronization across the server network.
Once I have everything set up to an acceptable specification, classic servers may join the lineup. A Beta 1.7.3 server will be launched concurrently with the network. You won't be able to connect to the beta server via the network due to compatibility issues, but I will link chat if at all possible.
Recent as of Friday, January 31, 2020 - Today marks seven years since the word "Nosiphus" was brought into existence. Mt. Nosiphus was constructed, and later that day, the Nosiphus brand began to appear on Blue Cove notebooks. Within a week, Blue Cove had become Nosiphus.
Recent as of Sunday, January 5, 2020 - The United States is on the brink of war with Iran. Runaway climate change is burning Australia to the ground. The international rise of the far-right is endangering humanity, and we have to fight against this authoritarian tide. Now, more than ever, I know exactly who I want to lead the charge against the far-right. I fully supported him in 2016, and I've supported him throughout this campaign cycle as well.
Recent as of Wednesday, January 1, 2020 - Happy New Year, and Happy New Decade!
