2019
Recent as of Thursday, December 26, 2019 - Five days remain before 2019 bids us farewell, and with it, the 2010s. As we get ready to count down to 2020, we're preparing to celebrate the best of the decade as it departs us.
Recent as of Tuesday, December 24, 2019 - We would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Even if you're not religious, this is a holiday that is supposed to be centered around love and peace.
As the song goes... Have a holly jolly Christmas, it's the best time of the year.
Recent as of Monday, December 2, 2019 - It was seven years ago today that Sean took a copy of HTML4 for Dummies and wrote the original webpage in FrontPage 2003, the event that kickstarted Nosiphus. Seven years later, and we're still going strong.

We have also redone the entire website's font system. Fonts should render faster and across all platforms now.
Recent as of Saturday, November 23, 2019 - The Federal Trade Commission issued a clarification statement, which can be read here. After reading this, I feel confident enough to say that our channel isn't likely to be in breach. There is also a general audience provision in COPPA, which most gaming-based content would fall under. This is increasingly looking like YouTube purposefully misleading the community in order to protect their own profits.
Ian Corzine's latest video explains the situation in far greater detail:
Recent as of Tuesday, November 19, 2019 - We have made all of our videos on the channel public again. We have added rationale disclaimers to each video description that state why we have classified each video as either made for kids or not made for kids. Our current policy is that each video is to have this disclaimer, and a standard set of disclaimers will be available soon. If the FTC listens and doesn't go through with this, then we will keep these disclaimers anyway, but if they do, we still plan to re-private the channel to protect ourselves from fines until we see what's happened.

The Verge Article - Change.org Petition - FTC Comments
If you live in the United Kingdom, we urge you to get to the polls and vote Labour.
Recent as of Monday, November 18, 2019 - Nosiphus is a small organization that consists of a group of friends that like to make Minecraft videos, and we do not have ads running on these videos. We cannot afford a fine of any size, and with the looming threat of the FTC fining YouTubers of all shapes and sizes up to $42,000 per video, Sean has made the decision to private every video on the channel.
We urge you to sign the change.org petition and comment on the FTC's website about this.

Recent as of Sunday, November 10, 2019 - On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, 1918, Europe breathed a sigh of relief as the Great War ended. Twenty years later, an even greater conflict left the world in ruins.
November is often overlooked in the holiday season because of Christmas and the relative lack of importance of Thanksgiving. This is one of the most worrying mistakes we make as a world. November 11 represents something far more important than any other holiday does: the costs of nationalism and war.
In recent years, nationalist tendencies have flared up across both the United States and Europe. The rise of the far-right should be utterly condemned and absolutely offensive to any decent person alive. Seventy years of peace in Europe have only been possible because of international cooperation and a shared sense of remembrance of just how catastrophic that not just the world wars, but all wars, have been.
Armistice Day and Veteran's Day are the two most common names for this holiday. There exists, however, a third: Rememberance Day. A day to pause and reflect on how bad these wars were and how humans must never allow their most base instinicts to do such horrendous things ever again.
On December 12, 2019, the United Kingdom will hold a general election that could shape the path of Britain forever. For the first time in decades, the choices are between a Conservative Party that has been captured by the hard-right, one that is hell-bent on dragging Britain down the road of nationalist sentiment and driving a wedge between the UK and the European Union, and a truly left-wing Labour Party that could turn the UK away from the Thatcherite road that has led to so much discontentment in pain in Britain.
If you live in Britain, we urge you to get to the polls and vote Labour.
Recent as of Tuesday, October 29, 2019 - Watch the video below at 6:00 PM Central Daylight Time.
Recent as of Wednesday, October 23, 2019 - Today we wish a happy birthday to Nate Sawyers, 19.
Recent as of Saturday, October 19, 2019 - Throughout the course of the last few months, we have not really displayed any proper updates on this page. There has been quite a lot happening behind the scenes, however.
We have just released an update to YogMod that corrects the table's lighting issues. Within Telkit, we have also updated maatin's mod DiscoCraft to 1.12.2, with the exception of the disco lighting effects. We have been playing a lot of vanilla survival as well, and at the moment, we're currently playing through Diversity 3.
As far as YouTube is concerned, we still have a lot of unreleased content that Sean just hasn't bothered to finish editing yet. This might explain why Castaways, filmed in March 2017, still has a six-hour play session. That video is being edited as one big block, and we will release it as soon as he is done with it.
Recent as of Tuesday, October 1, 2019 - It's time for the spooky bois.
Recent as of Sunday, September 29, 2019 - For the first time since July 2017, over two years ago, we have a new logo. It hasn't changed much, but you can still notice it.
Recent as of Saturday, August 24, 2019 - Nosiphus is eleven years old today. It's hard for us to believe that, but alas, it remains true.
Recent as of Monday, August 19, 2019 - Today is a day of new beginnings for many of our members. Let's make college a success!
Recent as of Sunday, August 4, 2019 - These last couple of days have been very tragic. El Paso and Dayton occurred within 24 hours of one another. Alongside the other tragedies that have happened throughout this year, they prove that we as a nation have not done anything to prevent this kind of senseless violence. Congress must act to pass H.R. 8 at the least, but much more is needed to combat this epidemic, and among that is a wider look at our culture of glorifying war and violence.
Thoughts and prayers are not enough. More is needed. People often complain there is a rush to politicize these issues. The problem is that everyone who says that, generally in right-wing circles, tend to say that to try and delay the debate forever so nothing ever happens. The United States, as with many other issues, cannot continue to be the one outlier among industrialized nations. This is not a problem even in Switzerland, where gun ownership is high. Australia confiscated weapons in 1996 after Port Arthur, facing hellacious backlash, but it worked in virtually eliminating the mass shooting problem. We must follow in their footsteps. Please contact your representatives and senators to tell them to support H.R. 8. It's time for it to happen.
We have decided that now would be an appropriate time to restore the Love project, founded after similar tragedies in late 2017.
Recent as of Sunday, July 28, 2019 - Telkit has entered a quick update cycle, and Sean is working hard on eliminating as many sources of lag as possible.
Recent as of Tuesday, July 9, 2019 - Last Friday, July 5, we had the sixth anniversary of Nosiphus Original Video Part One. This Thursday, July 11, is the sixth anniversary of Nosiphus Original Video Part Two. Two weeks from tomorrow, Wednesday, July 24, is the sixth anniversary of Nosiphus Mansion Video.
The original video file for Nosiphus Mansion Video was recovered last year from a hard drive deep scan. Sean has been working on this ever since, and we're going to try and get this out on that day.
Recent as of Monday, June 24, 2019 - Six years have passed since Monday, June 24, 2013, when the Nosiphus server first ran. Wyatt and I logged in and started building the blue HQ, and eventually it led to Nosiphus Original Video. I'm proud of how far Nosiphus has come since then, but it's also important to remember where we got our start.
While the original server is lost to time (well, I did recover the server world files, but they're too corrupted to be used), I have been working hard to make, as close as possible, a 1:1 replica of both the original world and the world of Nosiphus Mansion Video. I don't usually run this server, but today, the Nosiphus Required Mods server will be up for everyone to browse a piece of history.
Go to the Installation Instructions page for details, and install the pack "Nosiphus Required Mods". The IP is preconfigured. For added nostalgia, start the 2013 soundtrack playlist on Spotify, and play it from "Summer Breeze" onwards.
Recent as of Monday, June 10, 2019 - This week is the first week of the month to contain a major 2013 anniversary. This week's anniversary is Friday, June 14. On that day, Sean woke up after spending the night at his grandparents' house, helped set up a garage sale, and then proceeded to do some server preparations on the original HQ map. It was the first time any Nosiphus server groundwork was laid, although the server wouldn't properly launch until the 24th.
We are also considering redoing the site navigation bar again. We will be working on a secondary navigation bar file as we do this.
Recent as of Sunday, May 19, 2019 - Today, we are completely restructuring how we view our friend group. From this moment forward, the term "member of Nosiphus" is meaningless. This site will now be the hub for all of our friend group, not just those who've had a "title".
Recent as of Friday, May 17, 2019 - Today is a huge day for all of us here at Nosiphus. Today is the day we graduate from high school and take the next step of our lives.
Today is also the tenth anniversary of the creation of Minecraft, and there's no doubt that it has played a huge role in forming how the 2010s went, and we want to thank Mojang for the last ten years.
Recent as of Sunday, April 21, 2019 - The NosLabs Custom Blocks mod was massively rewritten over the weekend following the 2.0.8 "makes sense" update. 3.0.0 adds tons of new blocks that we just couldn't figure out how to add in the old mod structure. Block registry data is the same, so updating from 2.0.8 to 3.0.0 should not cause any world corruption.
Recent as of Friday, April 19, 2019 - Happy Birthday, Sean! There is a new release of Java 8, build 212. Our links are being updated. There has also been an update to the NosLabs Custom Blocks mod. You will need to redownload the HD texture pack if you want to use it, as new blocks have been added.
Recent as of Monday, April 15, 2019 - The burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris has been a truly horrifying site. We want to send our greatest sympathies to the French people and our express our enormous to the firefighters who've worked so hard to get this unthinkable situation under control.
Recent as of Friday, April 12, 2019 - The arrest of Julian Assange poses a threat to the freedom of journalists to hold the government to account for illegal actions around the world. We support Jeremy Corbyn's statement pleading for the British government to not extradite Assange to the United States.
Recent as of Monday, March 25, 2019 - The site is undergoing some changes. You will not see these on the surface, but they should improve the quality of the site's code.
Recent as of Sunday, March 3, 2019 - The PureBDcraft patch for Telkit has been updated. This update should correct all CTM glitches caused by MrCrayFish's Furniture Mod.
Recent as of Saturday, February 23, 2019 - OptiFinder is now available for Minecraft 1.6.4 and 1.7.10. An updated version for 1.12.2 is also available, and it fixes the issue where the Technic Launcher would not reappear after the game closed.
Recent as of Thursday, February 21, 2019 - We supported him in 2016. We fully intend to support him again.
Recent as of Sunday, February 3, 2019 - Due to the January resurgence of Minecraft's popularity, we here at Nosiphus have been playing modded survival, something we haven't done in a very, very long time. It has been going for long enough that we have considered the Times of Transition to be over, and that a new Third Golden Age has been upon us.
There's something else as well. This idea has been floating around in the back of Sean's head for a few years now, but now, he is seriously contemplating the return of the Nosiphus Server Network to operation. The Nosiphus Server Network was the multi-server vanilla network that brought the summer 2014 international coalition to prominence. It had a playerbase of around 50-60 users across various time zones. We currently have pages under development to see it return.
The following servers would exist in the network, * indicating an existing server:
Creative Free Build
Creative Plots
Factions
Vanilla Survival
Telkit*
Nosiphus Required Mods*
The following servers would also be involved, but remain unconnected to the main network due to version incompatibility:
Tekkit Classic*
Beta 1.7.3 Server*
Recent as of Friday, January 25, 2019 - nCraft has still got a while to go before it's anywhere near usable as a launcher, but Telkit release 6.9.6 is already out. This is to state that Telkit 7.0.0 will be on the Technic Launcher like its predecessors, but if nCraft development continues steadily, we could see the pack transitioning somewhere during Telkit 7's lifetime.
Recent as of Friday, January 11, 2019 - There's been a relative lack of events in the last few days to warrant me posting an update on the home page, but the least that I can mention is that Telkit release 6.9.0 is available.
Recent as of Tuesday, January 1, 2019 - Happy New Year!
